In May 2010 I began a journey to become a healthy and happy person by the time I turned 40 years old. I had very little energy, ate poorly, and high blood pressure. I vowed to change my life not only for myself but for my 3 beautiful boys (ages 13, 11, and 2). I wanted to be a mother they could have fun with and be proud of.
Within 6 months, I lost 40lbs by eating a low calorie/low fat diet and walking daily. I tracked everything I put in my mouth but realized that in order to hit my goal, I needed strength training to build muscle and cardio to lose weight. I joined a gym in October 2010, began lifting weights, taking classes, and hired a trainer for only 30 minutes a week. My trainer put me on a clean nutrition plan learning the right way to fuel my body and mind. Eating clean was the final impetus needed to transform my life.
This November, I will be participating in my first Figure Competition! In addition, my “Success Story” will appear in the Oxygen Magazine November 2011 edition. It’s only been a little over one and half years and I am stronger and more confident in myself and my abilities than ever before!
