Hello to all my fantastic women of iron out there! My name is Jen Fleck and I am a current figure competitor, avid personal trainer, and class instructor. I also hold down a day job as a full-time office manager so I can continue to lie my dreams. For more than a decade, I worked as a retail store manager with lots of heavy lifting and terrible hours. As the time passed, I realized the main reason I stayed was the amount of physical work involved. Something inside me clicked. It was not about the job, but rather what it did not strengthen the body and soothe my mind. As most of us in this lifestyle are aware, the two are quite mutually exclusive. If you are a devoted athlete, it encompasses all of who you are and who you strive to be.
As I began my journey as a new trainer after leaving the world of retails sale, I wondered what type of trainer I was going to be. After the first year,. I started looking into competing. It intrigued me. The diligence, the dedication,. the sweat and tears. 6 months later,. I entered my first show. I didn’t fair to well and had no clue how to pose, as you may be able to see from my teal suit photos, but I did it. Something I have told many other ladies since then looking to try this: 10% of people out there are in truly good shape, 10% of that number are in competition shape, and only 1% ever make it on stage. With that being said, I shook off my first attempt and moved forward.
During this time,. I also was forging who I was going to be for others. I then began to develop a type of class with CrossFit similarities but that anyone could attempt (you know, without destroying your joints :)) I also am a true HIIT believer! I then combined offset training with these 2 ideas in mind and voila! Jenetix was born. It may sound corny,. but the locals around my area have taken very well to it. I also noticed, firsthand, while training for my 2nd show, it made for wonderful figure competition workouts!! Bonus!

I started researching more avidly the nutrition aspect. It is truly amazing what the proper furl can do for you women out there! By the time I did my 3rd show, I was a bit too lean, but I placed much better and was actually happy. Then I realized what it would be costing me to continue to achieve my goals. Ouch! Competing is not cheap! In the last year, I have found vast hidden resources that make doing a show much more affordable, but it still put a large dent into the wallet. A dream is a dream for a reason though, you have to really want it!! I now devote much of my little spare time to getting my Pro Card so I can further my training career with a fitness studio for women just like me.
Places like this for such devoted athletes are few and far between in the Midwest, can’t blame a girl for wanting to change that!
Rest to rebuild, build to be better, and NEVER GIVE UP!
